The 4^th of July is a great time to get together with family and friends. It’s a nice mid-summer point to have a holiday, and if you’re lucky, you can make it an extended weekend! Unlike other holidays throughout the year, we always seem to do something different each year for the 4^th of July. Some years, we take a long weekend trip over the 4^th. Some years, we host a BBQ in our backyard. And some years, we have a quiet dinner at home and go out to the park for our local fireworks.

No matter where we are, or what we do, I always enjoy a nice BBQ and a great fireworks show! And overall, wherever we are, I mostly enjoy the patriotism I feel on the 4^th of July. More than any other day of the year, I am grateful for our freedom. Seeing flags flying, watching fireworks, and everything done up in red, white, and blue reminds us that we do have a great history to celebrate, and I am grateful for that.
