5 Summer Gift Wrapping Ideas
Posted by Mary Babiez on Jul 08 2014
I have always loved gift wrapping. Growing up, I was the go-to gift wrapper in the house. In my college public speaking course, I chose gift wrapping as my topic for a how-to speech. I love gift wrapping in new and creative ways. I suppose that's part of the reason why I chose to start a gift basket business since the wrap and presentation is so important in a gift basket.
If you google "gift wrapping ideas", you will find many creative ideas. I decided to choose a few that I found especially appropriate for summer gift occasions. Take a look at these and try them out for your next summer birthday gift, travel gift, or baby gift! And if you really like any of these ideas, let us know in the comments!
Wrap it in neon with Omiyage Blogs. You can create a lot of your own variations with this one. Change the shape of the neon strings. Change the background color. Add more strings. But I love the basic idea and it's really quite simple!

This next idea comes from Apartment Therapy. This idea uses fresh flowers as the main decor on the package. No one loves fresh flowers more than me, but if your package is going to sit for awhile or travel, you might choose silk flowers instead. Choose a themed flower for the occasion, or the recipient's favorite flower or color. This works well for men's gifts with some ivy, pine or eucalyptus instead of a flower.

If you're the type who has a container of leftover buttons (I know I am), then this idea from Shop Girl is just for you. Choose your favorite combination of craft paper, fabric, or ribbon and match it to some old buttons for a unique gift wrap design. And if you're not the type to keep old buttons, but you like the idea, go to your nearest fabric store and choose something just right for your occasion!

If the ocean is appropriate to your gifting occasion, consider decorating your gift with seashells. I love this one in particular that I found on Pinterest. It originally came from Stylisheve.com, but I couldn't get back to the original page. Anyway, you get the idea and can customize this idea to your own liking.
In my quest to find creative ideas for gift wrapping, I came across different variations of wrapping with old maps. If your occasion is travel related, this is a fun idea. You can create your own gift tag or use a real luggage tag on top.
