Last week I wrote about a special project we were working on for custom gift baskets featuring the products of some special local artists. You can find that post  here. 

Well I wanted to follow that up with a little more detail and name dropping of these fabulous people and products! The event was the annual conference of the Women's Business Development Center of Chicago. The gift baskets were for the four marquee sponsors. The request was for every item in the gift baskets to be from a local women owned business. It was a bit of a challenge to locate strictly women owned businesses. I had a few in mind, and I knew many family owned and male owned artists and products. But finding a good number of products that were women owned proved challenging.

Kudos to the network of women product artisans in Chicago. Once I started to contact some, they led me to others. In the end I had more than I needed for this project, but a great list of new ideas for future gift baskets. The baskets for WBDC were a great success, and in the next week, I will be adding new gift baskets to the store with all of these favorite new products.
