Festive Fourth of July Recipes

Do you have a favorite Fourth of July recipe? A cake made into the American flag with whip cream blueberries and strawberries perhaps? Whether you’re bringing drinks, appetizer, dessert, or hosting the whole shebang, here are some favorites to make and take to your fireworks celebration.
Fourth of July drinks – If you’re the bartender at your Fourth of July celebration, consider a red, white and blue martini and be sure to serve it in a traditional martini glass. For a less potent or totally virgin drink, this refreshing layered beverage is easy to make, tasty, and qualifies for super trendy if you serve it in a mason jar.
Festive Appetizers – Anything you can pair tastefully with strawberries and blueberries will certainly have the red, white, and blue effect, but you can also consider all-American delicacies such as mini corn dogs or pigs-in-a-blanket featuring the all-American hot dog. For Jello fans, these layered red, white, and blue squares are picture perfect!
Desserts – There are many ways to make a festive cake for Fourth of July; one of my favorites is the Flag Cake with its white frosting, and blueberries and strawberries to represent the American flag. As American as apple pie, these cherry and blueberry star pies in a jar are all about celebrating our great country. If you’re sharing the baking with kids, you might want to go for these colorful and festive whoopee pies.
