The first ever National Care Package Day is Thursday, September 5, 2024. 

This unique movement involves 51 small gift basket, gift box, and gourmet companies from all 50 states and Washington, DC. While there are national days for pizza, hot dogs, donuts and more, there has never been a dedicated day for care packages—until now. And while I am happy to celebrate pizza and hot dogs, we created this event to celebrate the tradition of sending thoughtful, heartfelt packages that connect us with loved ones, especially when we’re apart. And all of the companies in this nationwide community are small businesses and support other small businesses by curating gift boxes with brands local to their state or region.

Here at Thoughtful Presence, we have been showcasing local Chicago and Illinois brands for the last 12 years as the premier gifting destination in the Chicago area. It has always been our mission to create unique and personalized gift boxes and gift baskets that capture the spirit and warmth of Chicago along with themes for every occasion. 

In these divided times, it’s remarkable that small gift packaging companies from every state have come together to create this organic movement, and we are honored to be a part of this community.
