“Not all those who wander are lost.” – J.R.R. Tolkien
I am a lover of travel. Visiting faraway places. Learning new languages. Enjoying different foods. Immersing myself in new cultures. These are just a few of the elements of travel that appeal to me like nothing else. So when I started Thoughtful Presence, and wanted to incorporate special interest gift collections into our catalog, one of the first ideas was a travel gift basket.
Whether traveling within the U.S., Caribbean Islands, Europe, Canada, or any other faraway place I’ve yet to visit, there are some travel products needed for specific locations/climates, and some that are pretty universal to anywhere I travel. Questions come to mind like: What will I do on the plane? What will I wear? How do I make sure I don’t lose my passport? How will I manage the language? How will I share all those wonderful memories???
While those questions (and more) can lead to quite a long list of stuff for my travel gift basket, we do have to work within a budget. So, I narrowed down my final list using these few categories:
Travel must-haves
Travel stuff I LOVE but don’t need
Stuff I’ll need for the loooong flight
And here is what I came up with:
- Travel journal – The hard cover and beautiful design make this a lifetime keepsake.
- RFID Travel wallet – A sleek, perfectly sized, and super cute travel wallet with RFID technology to protect my most important valuable – my ID!!
- Luggage tag – The style says “let’s party” and color stands out making it easy to find my luggage at baggage claim!
- Travel pouches – Set of 3 keep me organized. Two can go in my luggage, and one in my carryon!
- Scramble Squares brainteaser puzzle – Okay love the hot air balloons and this will keep me going no matter how long my flight is!
- Travel room spray – Handmade delicately scented room spray because you never know who was there before me!
- Travel size lotion – Handmade all natural on-the-go lotion is a must-have!
Finally, since this was planned as a travel gift basket, it needs a basket. Oh, but a boring old wicker basket will never do for the world traveler, so I found the perfect travel themed keepsake box!
And so there you have it – my perfect travel gift basket! What's in your travel gift basket???
